Things are moving along at a quick pace here in the West household. this week marked the begining of my new position at work and I love it! I am so glad I was able to make the switch and look forward to being an asset to my new group. I have also made some new aquaintances who I look forward to working with.
On the home front things were a little hectic. MIL thought she lost her keys and so we were outside looking for them when I (the biggest chicken about wild critters) find a baby possum in the trashcan. Apparently the mother had been hit by a car and so the babies were fending for themselves. Two of them were killed by a neighborhood cat. (more reason to keep cats inside) We, and by that I mean husband, was able to wrangle him into a cat carrier and the next morning he was turned over to Project Wildlife and we thought we were in the clear.
Not so!! The next night husband was back outside for about two hours wrangling two more babies Again Project Wildlife, cat food and the cat carrier were there. So we saved three and two were deceased, surely that was it.
Friday, husband really wanted to take the Trans Am to the drive in to see Fast and Furious. First, we needed to run some errands and get some dinner, usual Friday stuff. First stop the Family Christian Bookstore, I got myself a new Complete Jewish Bible which I will use in temple. I love my study bible but it works better for home study and I like to use the same bible Rabbi has so I don't get distracted. I also got a really good book 12 Ordinary Men and 12 Extraordinary Women which I look forward to reading and studying.I also got Holly a Beverly Lewis collection made up of five novels by about a teen named Holly I am sending her a Passover present box with a few tank tops, the book, some dvds, mascara and claritin.
Next stop Wal*Mart. Call Holly to see what she thinks Nanny and G-pa Jim would like for their gift (I feel bad if I only send her things and nothing for them) Unfortunately Holly was having a rough day and proceeded to cry and fuss and tell me how much she wants to come home. I knew this call would come but it was really hard to take. (I spoke with her this morning and she is better) During that call as i walked through Wal*Mart MIL calls to tell husband that the worst possible thing happened. There was a baby opposum in our house! It crawled up her leg and she had to try to keep it away from the cats. We rushed home and husband was able to save his 4th baby in as many days.
Temple today was fantastic! The message really hit home for me and there were two new, younger folks there! That makes me so happy because I love this congregation and I really want it to grow and also to grow a little younger.
The week ahead is going to be even busier. Tuesday night we need to go to temple and move some of the heavier things out of the way to prepare for Pesach dinner. Wednesday we are showing up in the morning to get the tables set and the food prepped. I am so excited for the seder. This is going to be a rebirth for husband and I in many ways. Ever since last weeks prayer meeting there have been a lot of things that I am praying about in regard to our position in the temple. More to come on that.
Finally today we went out and got matza and other yummy stuff to eat for the seven days. We will be going tomorrow or Monday to The Place and get some more kosher for Passover items. Husband wants cereal and I need to get some Israeli salad and other things.
I hope you all had an exciting, positive and productive week an another one to come!
