Bored

I am bored.

Really bored.

I am watching Lie to Me which is a great show but it is not keeping me interested this evening. For once there are no dishes to wash, the laundry is washing so I can't fold it yet, the house is as clean as it is going to be since I have no interest in doing any cleaning tonight. Not that bored I guess :)

Something I have been pondering in my boredom...as an adult how do you make friends? If there is someone who you see only once a week, at temple perhaps, you like them well enough from what you know about them but you don't know that much about them. Maybe you'd like to know more, maybe you want to hang out and be their friend. How do you go about that. I know as a child you just ask. At work it just sort of happens, you spend a better part of the day working together, go to lunch together once or twice, exchange phone numbers, friendship.

What if you don't work together, you simply attend the same temple. You hardly have time to sit and talk to each other. Do you say "Hi, I'm Beverly and I'd like to be your friend?" I want to do that but I have no idea how one goes about this.

I must interrupt this post for an outburst of annoyance with the television.

Someone on TV (yes I know it's fiction people) had a house fire. The investigators say housing prices have dropped but his home was insured for the price it was before the market crashed.

This is why we get so many calls from people stating that we are over insuring them and trying to rip them off. As if all insurance companies are the Great Satan (maybe Ahmadinejad needs to rethink his position) Here is the fact: Insurance is based on REBUILDING COST plus DEBRIS REMOVAL. That concludes this lesson in insurance basics.

As I was saying....I am bored. I just ate some beef jerky and finished off my cherry limeade. Yummy.

Anyway if you have suggestions about how to broach the subject of "being my friend" with another adult please let me know. I know that may sound silly but honestly I just tend to fall into the friendships I have currently. I want to make an effort, expand my horizons, mingle, things like that.
