Sunday Night Food

Fresh brewed passion tea with homemade simple syrup. The tea is from the Tazo iced tea collection. I make mine as sun tea but it is also good if you boil the water and pour it over ice with the tea bag.
To make the simple syrup you simply add equal parts hot water and organic sugar to a saucepan. Heat and stir until all sugar is completely dissolved. This is the key to make sure it blends well with the tea. To make sun tea blend simple syrup and warm water in a pitcher with a tea bag. Set in the sun for two hours.

Since I am a believer in men doing the grilling and women doing the side dishes and the prep work I typically add the seasoning to the steaks. Start with kosher salt, (just a little as it draws moisture out of the meat)fresh ground black pepper and a little Stubbs bbq spice rub. Make sure to season both sides of the meat.

**Not pictured: Veggies - carrots, green beans, squash, red bell peppers and onions seasoned with black pepper. BBQ Bread - white sandwich bread, smear each slice with butter sprinkle with garlic salt. Wrap bread in foil and place on the grill.**
